Trachycarpus Fortunei -Windmill palm – chusan palm – A very cold hardy frost tolerant palm originating from the Himalayas growing at 8,000 feet and often getting sub-zero snowy conditions in its native habitat. Has a hairy trunk that helps insulate it from cold and waxy leaves. Zone 7 all day long and colder but with protection has been done as cold as zone 4.
