This palm has a 3 ft. (clear trunk) and is 6-7 ft. overall in height, and field grown so you will notice a thicker sized trunk than the size down. This palm is very cold hardy, originating from the Himalayas and grows at 8000 ft. in altitude. It is often snow covered and below freezing in its native habitat. It has a hairy fibrous trunk that helps insulate it from the cold. This palm grows well from central Florida to the northeast and is said to grow in all 50 states. It grows in Montreal, Canada with heavy protection. There is some work involved for it to live long term here, but there is great satisfaction gained when you grow a plant the tell you should not be able to live there.
